Story summary:
Herod had Peter arrested and put in prison. Peter was guarded around the clock by soldiers. While Peter was in prison, the believers (Christians) met together to pray for him. Through this, we learn the importance to pray for others not just ourselves.
One night Peter was fast asleep and chained between two soldiers with guards by the entrance. Suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared. He struck Peter on the side and woke him up. ‘Quick, get up!’ he said, and the chains fell off Peter’s wrists.
Peter followed the angel. They passed the first and second guards and eventually Peter was out of the prison. Peter then realized that it was God who rescued him.
Peter went to Mary’s house thereafter. Peter’s friends were surprised and overjoyed to see Peter. Peter described to his friends how the Lord had brought him out of prison.
Action to develop:
To pray for others, especially those who are facing problem and difficulties.
