Ringkasan:
After Adam and Eve disobey God, they became sinful. All the people born after this are sinful. However God is merciful to us. God judged Adam and Eve, but he also promised to send a Savior, who would come one day and die on a cross to take the punishment for sin.
As time passed, the number of people kept growing. But instead of serving God, they sinned against him more and more.
The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth. God told Noah of his plan. “I am going to put an end to all people,” God said, “for the earth is filled with violence because of them.”
Noah, too, was a sinner. But God gave Noah and his family favor. They did not deserve God's favor; he gave it to them as a gift. As a result of God's favor on him, Noah believed in God, depending on God to help him live a godly life and serve him faithfully.
Then God told Noah exactly how to build an ark, to save Noah and his family and some of every kind of creature from the floodwaters God would send. Noah believed God and did everything just as(God) commanded him. Noah and his sons : Shem, Ham and Japheth worked hard for many years to build the great ark.
When the ark is ready, Noah, his household, and all the animals and birds entered the ark. When they were all safely inside, God himself closed the door.
Then God sent the rain, and it poured down for almost six weeks. When it stopped, the earth was flooded with water. Even the mountains were covered.
Just as he promised, God cared for Noah and his family. God kept them safe, and provided enough food for them and the animals.
So, at his proper time, God sent a great wind to blow on the earth and dry up all the water. When the earth was completely dry, God spoke to Noah. “Come of the ark,” God said. So Noah, his family and all the creatures left the ark.
The first thing Noah did when he came out of the ark was worship God. He built an altar and sacrificed burnt offerings on it. God took delight in the praise and thanksgiving Noah offered him.
Then the Lord made an important promise called a covenant. God said, “I establish my covenant with you: (Never) again will all life be cut off by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth.” God was saying that he would never again cover the entire earth with water to punish sin. And as a sign of his covenant promise, God put a rainbow in the sky.
