Lesson Focus:
– Condition to be a Saviour: sinless
– God keeps His promise to send the Saviour
Summary:
We all made mistakes to our God. God wants us all to obey Him and do what He wants, but we are naughty and disobedient. The Bible says that “The wages of sin is DEATH!” Our heart died (black heart). With this black heart, we could not see God anymore, our life is separated from God, we became enemy of God and we walk away; because our lives are controlled by this black heart. The end of this journey is the eternal punishment in Hell. That is the price that we must pay for sinning against God, eternal punishment in Hell.
No one can help us, because all human beings are also sinful. We are all God’s enemy. We are all like prisoner, all of us are handcuffed because of the sins. Only someone who is without the handcuffs (sins) can help.
God knows that we cannot help ourselves, thus He sent Jesus Christ to save us all. Jesus, who is sinless, received the punishment on the cross for us. We are the ones who sinned against God, but Jesus paid the price for us. Jesus was not only taking our punishment away, He even conquered the death itself and rose again on the 3rd day.
Remember when paying the price of the mistake, there must be some conditions applied. A lost book can only be replaced with the exact same book. That is why ONLY a perfect obedient life can replace us. Jesus is the only one who can replace us, because He is the only one without SIN.
God the Father already planned to sent Jesus Christ long before Jesus came on earth. God already planned to send this Saviour right after Adam and Eve sinned against God in the garden of Eden. God was not surprised when Adam and Eve sinned, He even already prepared a Saviour before that. God said to the serpent (snake), “I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring; he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel. (Genesis 3:15)”
More than 3000 years after God made the promise to send the Saviour, the special promised baby was really born on earth. God kept His promise to Adam and Eve. Jesus came on earth to save all of us. He received the punishment that we all should receive. God sent the Saviour because He knew that we all could not save ourselves. This shows that God loves us. He does not leave us alone, but He saves us.
