Ringkasan:
God show Himself in Mt Sinai, and asked Moses to climb up to the mountain. God wrote the 10 commandments on 2 tablets of stone. For weeks Moses had been away from his people. Soon they began to wonder where he was. Some people grumbled and complained. They said to Aaron to make gods that they can see and who will lead them.
Aaron told the people to give him all their gold jewelry, and he melted it in the fire and made a golden calf statue. Then the people worship it. How sad!! They make an idol and worship it. God was angry and want to destroy them. But Moses pleaded, please forgive your people, remember your promise to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.. God spare the people and ask Moses to go down.
When Moses arrived in the camp, he found people partying around the idol. Moses was so angry that he threw the stone tablets and broke them. Then he destroy the statue. Moses gathered men with swords and about 3000 people were killed that day, because they disobeyed God. The rest of the people were very sorry that they have commit a great sin. Then Moses go back to the mountain and pleaded with God to forgive them. God forgives them, but the one who worship the statue will punished by a plague, which made people sick. Once again God wrote his commandments on 2 tablets and gave them to Moses.
When the people commit sin, Moses speak to God on behalf of the people. God loves them so He forgives them. Moses cannot pay for the people’s sin with his life, because he is also a sinner. The only one that can wash away our sin is only Jesus, God’s son. We are sinners, it’s very easy to love and worship things that we can see than God that we cannot see. Idol is anything that we love or treat as more important than God. It can be your family and friends, toys, movie, handphone, etc. We have to read the Bible and pray everyday, so that we know who our God is and have a good relationship with God. God loves us so much, He will forgives us if we repent. We have to trust and obey God.
