Ringkasan:
Samaria, capital city of Israel, was besieged by Syrian army and it has caused great famine to the city. The price of foods rocketed until people had to spend a lot of money for unworthy and unclean foods to eat. Some people had to eat their own sons and daughters. With this situation, King Jehoram did not go to God and repent but he swore that he will have Elisha beheaded and he blamed God of what has happened to his kingdom. Elisha prophesied that the following day, God would make the price of the foods to be so cheap that people could buy a lot of foods by just spending a small amount of money. The captain who was with King Jehoram did not believe it. He did witness that God opened the window of heaven to give Israel the food they need, but he did not eat it. Because of his unbelief, God punished him with the mass trampled on him at the gate of Samaria.
Through the story of Elisha, children learned some key points:
1. We should put our hope in God not only in good times but also in times of difficulty
2. In times of difficulty, we should learn to keep trusting and obeying God (unlike King Jehoram who blamed God)
3. We should come to God, pray for our needs and wait for his deliverance
4. Jesus Chris will come one day, and provide complete deliverance for God's people and judge deliverance for God's people and judge those who do not believe in Him
